baylee makes me laugh

Some times this little girl just cracks me up with the things she comes up with. Tonight the dog was on the porch hanging out like a dog would I guess tied up out there. And me and Britany were watching a movie. Baylee had been playing next to the dog crate in the living room on the floor next to the couch. A little while had past without me hearing her so I popped my head up to see what she was up to and noticed that the dog crate was filled with toys. Now she does not have a ton of toys. But I bet more than 2/3 of them were in the crate. So at this point me and Britany started to watch her. She would crawl around find a toy, open the crate stick the toy in, close the crate and go find another. some of the time the toy would be in the living room but most of the time it was in her bedroom. To put the amount of toys in that crate also must have taken a lot of time. I watched her try to put one action figure in, but before she could she had to shove the rest to the back of the crate to make room. The only thing that I can think of was that she was trying to share. But that would be a first for Baylee. Who knows what that little girl thinks some times. But seeing her smile when she saw that we started watching couldn't help but make me laugh at her little mind working.

Baylee Update and Car Fixing

So yesterday HD left to fix my sales manager's car at 10:00 am and didn't get back home until 11:00 pm. Apparently he needed a new alternator which they thought would be an easy fix, but there was a bolt? that was underneath the alternator that they couldn't get to without moving the engine. This car was a '92 Chevy something... but apparently it was put together badly. They had to go to the store to buy a crowbar and finally found one at Cal Ranch in order to pull the engine forward so that they could get the alternator out. Then the car still wouldn't start, so HD called Harvey to figure out what else could be wrong with it, and he told him that it was either the alternator they put in, or it was the wiring. Sure enough, the car was wired wrong. They had to completely rewire it which took all night. Kind of a bummer on a Satruday but it was good that HD had the opportunity to help David with his car because that probably would have cost him a lot of money otherwise and David's getting married in a little over a week. Now the car runs perfectly. Yay for HD!

Baylee has been a character lately. Even more than normal. Every once in a while we will catch her standing on her own and sometimes even walking, until she realizes that we're watching and then she'll sit down. What in the world? I don't understand why she doesn't want us to see but what a funny girl! I cought her about an hour ago standing up holding a spool of ribbon that she found under my bed, but when she saw me watching her she leaned forward and propped herself up against the bed. Maybe she wants us to carry her still? Maybe she really likes the stroller? I don't know but it's pretty funny. I'm sorry that I couldn't take a picture or a video of her doing it though. We left our camera at the family reunion and Mickey Coombs has it, but I guess it was burried in the back of her car so she said she would get it to us. Maybe we'll see it again this weekend.

Sesame Street

So I thought this was a funny story to share. I guess you have to know one of my biggest pet peeves is guys wearing girl pants. Or i guess just that whole groups mentality. I mean, could you imagine a hole community like that? If you go to get your car fixed, and a guy comes out to get the keys who shops in the same section as your wife, are you going to hand them over? Now that might be stereo typing but what ever. Anyways yesterday I was in a construction class computer lab in the basement of the C/M building here on campus. Now I had thought that because of the location of the lab, not many other people would know it exists. At least I didn't until last year and I have been in that building for the last 4 years. So apart for the obscure location of the class being a factor, I was also very tired. I have slept maybe 5-6 hours in the last few days because of finals. So needless to say I am not thinking all that well. Anyways we are in the middle of our final class, we have a semester long project due at the end, and the lab is packed with about 47-48 students (there are 50 computers). I guess the other thing to keep in mind is that we are not the prettiest group of student on campus. Just ask Suzanne out of 700 of us C/M majors not one was good enough for her haha. Ok so this guy walks into the lab in the middle of the class wearing black finger nail polish, girl pants, hair over half his face (dyed black), shoes that may sister would think are cute, and a shirt that was made for a small child in 1971. Now i also am wondering when he came in, how do they let him in the testing center here? So there is the situation. He walks in finds his way to one of the only computers that is empty in the middle of the room and sits down. The teacher starts to say "hey we are in the middle of,... well forget it". So most of us just went back to work. But at this point my brain is not filtering anything that my mouth is saying. I also think point break was when he started playing music from a British sounding girl who sings way to high. ya in the middle of our class! So I meant to whisper it, but it must have came out louder than I thought. I turned to one of my friend's and asked hey did you watch Sesame Street as a kid? He said "who didn't". So now this is the point where I think it could have became a little louder than a whisper. I started right in singing, "witch one of these things is not like the others. Witch one of these things just doesn't belong....." The whole class must have heard because everyone started cracking up. Not even the poor teacher could hold it in. I have to hand it to the kid though. Even with the whole class laughing at him, he stayed and kept working. Just for a bit until it looked like he was done doing what ever he was working on then left. I am hoping that he just wasn't listening to what was going on in the class and didn't hear me. Or he could have just been wrapped up in that crappy music to much to notice. I guess I could just be a jerk though. But I still think that it is funny.

finals week

Holy cow I am exhausted. HD has SSSSSOOOO much homework, mostly for Construction Estimating that it's UNBELIEVABLE. Seriously his teacher is a slave driver. We were up until 4 in the morning doing homework, I don't have much left but I was mostly trying to keep HD awake so that he could get his done. I am basically just ready for this semester to be over. It'll be nice to have time to "relax" every once in a while. It will also be nice because HD can work a lot more which will help relieve some stress. I'm glad that the school president changed the semesters so that everyone has a seven week break between summer and fall semsters. We are off-track in the fall so the seven week break just gives us about a 6 month break which is SSSOOO nice! Baylee has been really cute lately. I think she's been key in getting me through this semester (well HD helps too) but it seems like whenever I am just so tired and stressed out that I don't know what to do with myself she either does something really cute and funny like pick on the dog, or she knocks the trash can over and gives me something to do to get my mind off of things :) Regardless, I am very excited for the weekend!

Here are just a couple of pictures because with finals and life being so crazy, we havent had time to get on here all that much. Baylee is eating spigetti is the first one. And she also likes to try and play with/ yell at the kids playing out side.

We went to the splash park on Saturday. This time HD came! I was so excited but then he got terrible allergys. Bummer.
I don't know what it is about goldfish..... Actually Baylee has allergies too and it was getting so bad that she wouldn't take a bottle because she couldn't breathe, so I went to Walgreens the pharmacist said that I could give her a little less than half of the dose of children's Benedryl twice a day, but that really knocks her out. We're also trying Zantac for HD for a week to see if it helps at all. Apparently its over-the-counter now so hopefully that works.
